We sat down to continue the 2026 year with Dio Blakely, a freshman at Washington State University, whose journey is all about growth, confidence, and learning how to block out the noise while finding your footing at the next level.

The jump from high school to college basketball isn’t easy. Faster pace. Stronger bodies. Bigger expectations. For Dio, that transition came with moments of doubt and a lack of confidence — questioning where he fit and how long it would take to feel like himself again on the court.

But instead of letting uncertainty win, Dio leaned into the process. Day by day. Rep by rep. He kept showing up. As the season has gone on and the wins continue to stack up, his confidence has grown right alongside them — not just as a player, but as a person.

We also talked about the outside noise. Social media. Opinions from people who don’t see the work behind the scenes. Dio shared how learning what not to listen to has been just as important as learning the game itself. Staying locked in. Staying present. Staying true to who he is.
